Restoration of a 17th-Century Four-Panel Door

This restoration project involved a 17th-century four-panel door, hinged on wall-mounted pivots, with the goal of preserving its authenticity and ensuring full functionality. The restoration process included the following steps:

  • Structural consolidation and realignment to restore the stability and proper functionality of the door
  • Reconstruction of missing or deteriorated parts, with particular attention to areas affected by rot
  • Careful cleaning to remove accumulated dirt without altering the original patina
  • Anti-parasite treatment to protect the wood from future infestations
  • Eco-friendly varnishing with weather-resistant exterior protective coatings
  • Reconditioning of the hardware and handles, restoring the original elements to full working order
  • Reinstallation with secure fixing of the wall-mounted pivots, ensuring perfect stability and long-lasting durability

Thanks to this intervention, the door has regained its original charm and functionality.
